Breaking Ground: A New Chapter at the Orchard

This month, after months of patient waiting and careful preparation, the first shovel finally touched the soil. We broke ground on our future barn—a space we’ve been dreaming of for so long.

Getting here wasn’t a straight path. Like many good things, it took time. We worked through the permitting process with Boulder County, knowing that every step was part of building something lasting and meaningful. And now, with the paperwork behind us, the real work—and the real joy—begins.

The barn isn’t just a building. It will be the heart of Sweet Earth Orchard’s gatherings—a place where workshops, retreats, and community events can unfold. A space for learning, sharing meals, and finding clarity together. It’s where stories will be told, hands will get messy, and people will reconnect with themselves, each other, and the natural world.

Standing at the edge of the foundation, watching that first scoop of earth turn over, felt symbolic. Just as the orchard cycles through planting, growth, harvest, and rest, this barn is part of our own growth cycle. It’s a reminder that beginnings often require patience—and that when the timing is right, things move forward.

Over the coming months, we’ll be sharing glimpses of the barn as it takes shape. We can already picture the long tables filled with food, the quiet mornings of yoga by the big doors, and the evenings when laughter carries out into the orchard.

For now, we’re celebrating this first step. A shovel in the earth, a vision moving from dream to reality, and a new chapter opening here at Sweet Earth Orchard.
